Abstract:
This session explores the academic and cultural transition of community college students into four-year faculty environments. While many students arrive motivated and capable, they often encounter significant shifts in class workload, instructional pace, faculty expectations, and independent learning demands. The presentation examines differences in teaching techniques, assessment styles, study habits, and the structure of learning communities that can leave transfer students feeling unprepared and disconnected.
