In this workshop, participants will learn how to build interactive activities designed for the active learning classroom using the free and open-source platform Doenet (beta.doenet.org). They will learn to create activities using Doenet features such as answer validation, graphical answers, feedback, and hints, building richly interactive online experiences to support student learning.
Participants will explore how Doenet can provide immediate feedback on student progress for both algebraic and graphical exercises, helping students to discover a pathway to a solution. By the end of the workshop, participants will have basic familiarity with key constructs of Doenet. We will provide guidance on using the available resources to learn more about Doenet, including how to connect with the supportive Doenet community of developers and experienced instructors.
No prior programming experience necessary, but experience with LaTeX will be helpful.
