OSUB: Authoring accessible and interactive documents using PreTeXt

May 5 | Part of the Open Science in Undergraduate Biology (OSUB) Seminar Series Mark as Favorite Icon: registration Register Icon: calendar Events

PreTeXt is a markup language for authoring accessible and interactive scholarly documents. With its focus on the semantic meaning of content, documents in PreTeXt are organized so that they can be naturally parsed by screenreaders and even produce tactile braille output. In this workshop, we will explore how to use the PreTeXt.Plus cloud editor to write and share documents in PreTeXt that include interactive code, and briefly overview how all this free and open-source software can be installed locally or used for free using GitHub Codespaces. This talk will focus on SageMath code, but support for other open-source software languages such as Python and R is also available.

This event is part of the OSUB Seminar Series.
